Default Desierto (Desert) movie. Sporterized Garand?

Hi guys:

Just out of curiosity... I started watching today, the movie "Desierto", about a racist guy hunting Mexicans crossing the border, and it looks like he was using a sporterized M1 Garand with a scope mounted in front of the receiver, and without handguards... First time I ever saw a sporterized Garand. And I found kind of weird, that the guy using the rifle, had to cycle the oprod manually... No gas plug?

Tried to post the picture of the rifle using PB, but you know how it is... Posting a picture with PB is more difficult than trying to fit 10 30.06 rounds in a Garand clip.

Hum ... lockbar rear sight. Rest of the rifle ... odd. But the lockbar looks good. Sincerely. bruce.

In the pic, the vigilante dude has something similar to a Mini-G with a forward rail mount, topped with a "Scout scope" set up.

Hollyweird does not care nor even know what would be correct for a rifle. Despite all these advisers they seem to have.

Notice the scope is not even on the correct axis, instead of a cross wire he's got him a X wire. The ignorance of Hollywood and Libertards can't be hidden from the light can it.

If you look at the trailer from the film, it shows a view of the crosshairs that is impossible with the way the scope is mounted.

I wonder who paid the upfront costs of this film?

Is that scope mount held onto the handguard with wood screws or super glue?

It's almost as if the rifle was a prop and not an integral part of the story....
