Default Fair Garand Trade?

I have a Winchester I bought a couple years ago that I am replacing with one I got last week at store.

My friend has an HRA.

Neither rifle is exceptional but his has correct barrel.

Thinking of swapping at today’s CMP prices with him paying cash difference.

Would you do that trade?

If it fills the HRA hole in your collection, go for it. They are very well finished and nice rifles overall.

Yeah, should have mentioned. I thought having an HRA special grade (made in AMC class) was enough but want something less “new”.

Winchesters are worth approximately $200 more than an HRA in my area of the country. This is just for a Winchester or HRA receive rand the rest of the parts of mixed manufactures. If the two rifles are of the same condition, I would expect you should get some cash in the trade. This of course also depends on how bad you want the HRA. You can look at the prices that the CMP is asking currently for their Special Grades in both Winchester and HRA.

As it turns out, he sold his HRA and forgot! Sigh... so, I am playing the luck of the draw game. Wish me luck!
