Default How do you get the M-1 Data page into the entries?

You have the Garand Data page available but how do you insert into the data section of each entry?

I'm not sure I completely understand your question so please let me know fi I do not answer it properly. First of all, you are referring to the "Data Sheet" tab (shown below) which has a sample Garand Data Sheet. You want to know how to add data for a specific Garand to the data sheet correct?

The Data Sheet is really just free text so you can go in and type whatever you want wherever you want to type.

Did that answer your question? If not, would you mind elaborating on your question a little more?

Thanks!

Default

The sample Garand Data Sheet form included with the NM software is in another "file." How do I get the form over to a particular data tab?

Thumbs up How to copy Data Sheet from one location to another

Thank you for your clarification. Now I think I better understand what you are asking. I would like to share a tool that you will find useful in many situations. This is the keyboard shortcut approach to copy / paste.

What you need to do is copy the data sheet text from one location to another. Here are some useful links that describe the process for each operating system that NM Collector Software runs on:

Windows: http://freepages.computers.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~adelr/copy_paste.htm
Mac: http://www.wikihow.com/Copy-and-Paste-on-a-Mac
Linux: http://www.linuxclues.com/articles/13.htm

If you are interested, I have created a video to illustrate the process in windows here: http://www.nmcollectorsoftware.com/v...hNarration.avi

Here is a description of the process in windows:
  1. Place your cursor in the location of the data that you want to copy. In this case it will be the text of the existing M1 Garand Data Sheet example that I provide in NM Collector Software.
  2. Press and hold the [CTRL] key while you press the [A] key. You can now release both. This selects all of the text in the text area where you placed your cursor.
  3. Press and hold the [CTRL] key while you press the [C] key. You can now release both. This copies the selected text to your computer's clipboard so you can paste it somewhere else.
  4. Place your cursor in the location where you want to paste the text. In this case it will be the data sheet for the M1 garand that you want to capture the data sheet for.
  5. Press and hold the [CTRL] key while you press the [V] key. You can now release both. This will paste the data you copied before in the new location!
That's it! It's easy to remember and often faster than any other method once you get used to it.

Thanks for asking! I'm sure many other people will benefit as a result.
