Default 1911A1 and Colt Letters*

Anyone here request a letter from Colt for their 1911 or A1? I sent my request in December 2017 and was curious as to how long it may take.
Thanks

I have a Colt 1911 that went to the Ordnance Officer, Military Training Camp, Camp Plattsburgh, NY in May 2, 1917. Was Camp Plattsburgh a regular Army Camp or a NY National Guard Camp?

I also have a Colt 1911A1 that went to Commanding General Springfield Armory which is a pretty cool place in and by itself but the Dec 4, 1941 shipping date is what I think is the cool part.

Mark 1 somehow my response to your post ended up a separate thread?!
Anyhow the vast majority of 1911/A1 pistols lettered by Colt will show shipment to Springfield Armory. If you post the serial of your gun ( with the last digit left off if you wish) I will look up in my clawson big book the possible shipping destinations
