Default Lee Enfield price check...

I'm looking at a mint unwrapped and lightly used No4 MkII and at almost a grand the price seems a lil steep. However, I have seen those still in the paper go for that and more, and I've never seen one unwrapped look this nice. What would the going rate be right now?

I've seen No4 Mk Is list for around $400 and a pristine one I bought for $700 at a gunshow. I think I overpaid for it but never seen one in better shape. Your LE is overpriced in my opinion being lightly used at that and not pristine.

Prices on Enfield are going crazy lately! I think an unwrapped mint No. 4 mk2 like you are describing might be around the $1,000 price these days! I go to gun auctions and the last few I saw (which dont come up really often)sold in the $700-800 range, plus an additional 10-20% buyers premium, maybe $775-950 in total. Auction prices may be high, but it shows what some people will pay!

One of the first guns I bought was one of these, all matching including bayonet and scabbard for $145! That was around 20 years ago!

I know a Gentleman who had 15 of them still in the paper he got $1,000 on up and sold out quickly they were perfect never fired new ones, And he sold them quick too, I collect Enfield and have for many years, I have One in my collection id say is close to new the other is a nice Vintage restoration of a No4 Mk-1* Long branch it came out beautiful redid all the metal and found some 1960,s era new old stock wood with stamps, Picked up the stock set at liberty Tree Collectors a while back, not a dent or ding in it for $150 complete wood set.Originaly paid $70.00 for the sporterized bubba stocked Rifle but I was buying the metal mostly as it was in beautiful shape for a rebuild.

It might be about what they are going for. Most people are asking $300-$350 for a bubba special and $400 on up for a complete non-bubba shooter. It seems there are tons of modified Enfields out there, way more than complete rifles for some reason. Someone will buy it near that price, not me, but someone.

Many of these came with a matching bayonet. If that is present, then 1K easy, maybe more towards $1200. They are beautiful rifles.

The "Irish Contract" circa 1955 ones still in the wrap w/matching number bayonet are going for around $1400 and up these days. Take the wrap off, and the value drops $400-500 even with the matching bayonet. I have one in the wrap left from 6 I bought from Roses department store back in the '90s for $200 each.

Here are a few recent, closed, GB auctions for 1955 un-issued No.4 Mk.2 Enfields out of the wrap. Looks like they are going between $1000 and $1400 depending.
