As the title implies, I'm considering buying a 16" bayonet for my collection. What are some of the things I should look for when buying one? I don't want to buy a reproduction at the price of a real one. Thanks.

Keep an eye on the sales forum. They come up from time to time at much better prices than what you would pay on gunbroker.

The main reason I look on GunBroker is because some people accept credit cards, and that's easier for me. the one I'm looking at is priced at $200.

Eaby also accepts credit cards. When you go to check out, there are several option to pay. Paypal, and credit card. Just click on credit card and it will charge the one you have on file.

Google "reproduction M1905 bayonets". There are a lot of pictures of reproductions. The ordinance stamp and lettering either SA or RIA is a big giveaway.

Personally, I am a PayPal fan. Quick, easy and if you do friends and family, there is no up charge.
