Why should the Garand folks have all the fun?!?! I think we need our own Carbine Picture Thread!!!
![]() I'll start. Quality Products Rack Grade (picked up from the South Store in Dec '09) Configured exactly (ok, close enough) like the Carbine my Granddad carried during the war. ![]() The little kid in front of my Granddad has his Carbine. ![]() Let's see your Carbines, gentlemen! ![]() ![]() Left to right in the order received: Standard Products w/Underwood barrel, really nice WRA stock, maybe DCM gun, nice parkerized finish, private purchase (saw this being picked up when I dropped my first carbine, also a SP, at gunsmith, now it is mine and sold the other). IBM w/IBM barrel, mixmaster came in a M2 Potbelly, now wearing a JL-B stock, rack grade via CMP, dark finish maybe Greek? MW of 4 but surprisingly good shooter. Underwood w/Underwood barrel, many Underwood parts, came with above mentioned JL-B stock, now in MU stock, Inland trigger housing stamped LGK 00, service grade via CMP is my main shooter and the only one with a round bolt. I recently put together an Underwood trigger group with all Underwood parts correct to manufacture date. I kept the previous Inland trigger housing & post-war guts so I can slap it back in if so desired. Rock-ola w/Rock barrel, service grade via CMP, late war replacement WRA stock, heavily "Austrianized" mixmaster w/LGKI stamp and plum trigger housing. Leaving as received. Inland w/Inland barrel, Bavarian Rural Police w/flip, German highwood stock, mixmaster with LGK 00 stamped Underwood trigger housing, Type A band, CMP service grade. Leaving as received. Asked for anything other than an Inland, so naturally CMP sent me an Inland. Standard Products w/Underwood barrel, completely correct except for a four rivet replacement handguard (now replaced with correct one), stock is S-HB, flip & Type A band, private purchase pretty sure a "duffel-bag" gun. The carbine I'm most proud of. A SG Winchester will soon join the platoon. Last edited by dnikkor; 03-25-2010 at 05:29 PM. |

That is a sweet .30 cal MG. Is it semi or full auto? I have had a serious hanker for one of those and if I ever win the lottery, look out.

Here's my cache - all SG except for the fake M1A1 - stock was cracked in two places so I got a repo folder for it, but, rest of the rifle was SG+ (SS grab). Sent in order for SG S'G', but, sounds like I missed the cut.

Some nice looking carbines here. Be careful if you are storing your carbines, or any rifle, with a canvas muzzle cover on them. The canvas can attract moisture and may cause rust to form on the barrel. Just be sure to oil and check on occasion.
