Default M14 SA Mags

Anyone here notice this auction on GB? First ones I've seen. Are they original?

Honestly .... a professionals advice will be required as no real or fake examples exist. They have a kmt lug weld pattern with only 11+1 spot welds on the spline. The packaging is garbage though the seller always has nice stuff and I picked up three insanely rare apex or "A" marked mags from them a while back. This was a very expensive toss of the dice. Wise or poor decision??????

I've been looking for an Apex if you care to let one go. Have a couple of 7 weld kmt's and a 9 weld. One of the 7 welds is unmarked, but has all of the characteristics of a KMT. Both have long latch plates and I wonder if they were early production. Wish you the best on the SA's.

Thank you 2908, I have two apex left as I let another member have one. One is a regular marked A and the second has the X marked lugged leaving no spares. My g.i. mag collection is now somewhere in the 30's of differently marked mags. Only four have gotten away from me with one being experimental. The long latch plate is interesting though, I had no idea that was a thing.

The two 7 welds with the long latch plates have very sharp edges on all sides, and would not engage the mag release on my rifle. After some careful filing on the bottom edge, they now lock in. No sense having mags that I couldn't use. The 9 weld has no issues, the latch plate having more smooth and rounded edges.

Just curious:
Why is the packaging "garbage?"
And you paid so much because these might be rare magazines?
Thanks!

The packaging is already open, leaving no proof of being from a G.I. box. The date is also in question. The dice have been thrown, just waiting for the numbers.

Thank You!
And the SA marked magazines are rare?
