Default How can I change a thread title?

I can't seem to figure out how to change the main title of a thread but I know it can be done because I've seen others do it. If I have items listed in the classifieds, for example, and a few of them sell or I want to show that the prices are reduced, how do I change the very first thread title? All I can seem to do is add a new sub title to the first post. Thanks in advance!

on the top of your post there is a row of buttons like "thread tools, search this thread, etc". under thread tools select "edit this thread" and you should be abel to change the title from there.
on the other hand, since im a moderator I have more buttons than you do, so you might not have all those. if i remember correctly thouugh, its somewhere around there. if you need a title changed and cant seem to do it, just PM me the link to the thread and what you want the title changed to.

Thanks for the reply. No "edit this thread" function available unfortunately. I can do a few things there but not edit. The odd thing is I've noticed some people making thread title changes but maybe they have figured a work-around. In the future I can just delete and restart a thread with a new title I suppose.

The change I was trying to make was on this WTS ad: http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=51528. I was hoping to change the title to "WWI 2-tone mag, excellent condition, now $90 shipped".

Thanks again!

You might try this

click on the thread and on your first post select edit . When that comes up go to the bottom and select go advanced. This should bring up the title bar. I have used this on other Vbulletin systems but haven't had the need here. If that doesn't work just PM Darthnip.
