It looks like you got the answer you were looking for so I'll just say welcome and good luck with your H&R SG. Eddie

Welcome, I just picked out another Garand last weekend I had business in Tennessee and could not resist the 3.5 hour drive. Service Grade are nicer, looks wise and for the money probably a better bet. But I love the Field Grades can't help but wonder the story behind this dent, ding and scratch. Garands are like chips and tattoos hard to stop with just one.

I'm tempted to roll the dice on an HRA FG.
I know better, but the temptation is strong...

Welcome to the sickness and I have 3 HRA's that are very fine to shoot... but then again so are the other 3ish Springfield's .. your luck will be getting a late production.. then you'll want an early.. then you will look for a 1 mill, 2mill, 3mill,etc... it never stops!!!!!!

Just sit back and enjoy them!!!

My order went off from the Post Office this afternoon for a Service Grade H&R + 200 rounds of ammo in the ammo can - if the guns are as addictive as you guys say they are, I have a real problem ahead of me - no wife to tell me no, and I'm known to buy guns just, well, because I can.

Life is good . . . .

I thought one would be enough but I'm up to 4 and I'm probably not finished. After you get your shooter order a barreled receiver and build (assemble) one yourself. You get a lot of satisfaction building it yourself. The one I built is my favorite.
Oh and welcome!

I ordered the HRA SG and by the luck of the draw it is awesome. Go for the gusto, go SG.

Went to north store to pick up a case of 22 ammo, left with ammo and Garand no. 33. Nice AF that was still on rack.

For me, living near either one of the CMP retail stores would be very dangerous . . .

And seeing the post from fpd17res has reminded me that I ordered my Garand - I hate waiting . . . it's been a week now - wonder when mine will arrive . . . do they send you a shipping notice or anything like that, or does it just show up?

BEWARE!

CMP addiction is a serious sickness. A Service Grade H&R will only be a 'gateway drug' to more Garands and whatever else the CMP plans on selling in the future.

My safe is full of things that I never knew I needed, and which originated in Anniston, Alabama or Port Clinton, Ohio.

Don't say you weren't warned!!
