Default Unitised gas cylinder

Can anyone share instructions for welding the gas ? I have a tig welder and know how to weld. The mtu book only shows how to screw it.

It doubles as a heat sink also.
A small bead in two places is all it takes.

Default gas cylinder

Is the piece solid with the screw holes tapped or a tube? I am guessing that you still shim to fit when installing the cylinder.

Its a solid piece with tapped holes on each end and a couple fender washers.

I test fit the parts on the gun and look for any issues then remove it , fixture it up and weld it. Fit as desired.
