Default Recommendations for new manufacture barrel

For those who have done builds with a new (not usgi) barrel, what are your thoughts/recommendations on the different manufacturers? I'm looking at getting an 18.5" (tanker) barrel, standard weight. I'm not looking for match grade, but pretty close. So given that, what are good options?

1) Criterion, Bula, Wolfe? (except that I haven't actually been able to find where to purchase a Bula barrel or whether they even make an 18.5")
2) Chrome lined, chromoly, nitridred?
3) Best combination of 1 and 2 above?

Any information will be greatly appreciated - TIA!

Well to start, Wolfe's barrels are Criterion and they are fine barrels. Jon is also a distributor for Bula Barrels. I have used both in builds and they are all comparable when you are talking short barrels. My preference is non chrome lined. I think I would lean toward Jon Wolfe's standard weight match barrel in an 18.5" variety. So many choices and so little time. Humor.

FYI, the Bula 19.25" barrel allows you to keep the bayo lug & remove the gas plug & gas piston without removing the flashhider. You can also attach a bayonet just like on a full-length barrel.

You can also get their 19.25" barrel in medium NM profile. The shorter NM profile barrel is a little heavier than a standard profile full length barrel, though.

Smith Enterprise has excellent standard & medium heavy 18" barrels... I have used both of them.

If I was building a rifle for across the course a still prefer Krieger.
General use any of the other listed barrels are good to go.
