I've had one misfire with HXP. This is what I found when I pulled he cartridge down.
Faulty primer. Very little compound and no anvil.

I didn't try firing any of this. Of course, CMP did me right and replaced it.

Yes, this was from the CMP.
Trying to cut the story short. This is definitely a kudo for the CMP staff!

I had recently had back surgery. A friend and I went to the South Store to pick up a number of cans (maybe 40) of HXP ball. I couldn't load the ammo into my vehicle so my friend did it while I remained seated in the vehicle.

The next day I examined the ammo and found two cans had water damage. I took the photos and sent them to CMP customer service. Since I had picked up the ammo CMP couldn't ship replacement ammo. They said I would have to bring the ammo back for replacement. I wasn't in any condition to drive back then so they said they would make a note in my account and to bring the ammo next time I came down and they would replace it.

Well, it was over 4 months before I got back down to the South Store because of my screwed up back. I called the day before and they did have the note in my file. When I got there the next day a kind CMP customer carried the ammo in for me. CMP had the ammo waiting at the counter for me and even carried it out to my vehicle. You can't ask for better customer service than what you get from the CMP staff!

Yes, that's excellent service! I'm a bit surprised CMP didn't catch that batch for what it was...
