Default .22 Ammo

I just received this notice from J&G Sales.

This is a very innovative load from Aguila, a 22LR round with a light 20 grain bullet that fires using only the primer, for a huge reduction in noice levels! Often called urban ammo, since some people use them for varmint reduction around the yard. Bullet travels at about 500-550 fps and is considered quite accurate since there is no disruption around the sound barrier. Will not cycle semi autos, good for use in revolvers. 500 round brick is now only $31.90

Check them out at

MidwayUSA sells it too.

Both LR 22, one round at ~375fps ($28/brick), and the other at about 500fps ($25/brick) (this later one sounds like the same one JG emailed you about).

Midway sells them by the 50 rnd boxes too...

http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=295321

3.19 and 3.09 per box of 50rnd.

I've been using CBs from CCI. But have feeding problems from mags in my semi autos due to them being a Long case, not a LR case.
Large pain trying to load a single round through the breach of the semi-autos.

Seems other report no such feeding problems from the Aguilas. But yes, have to manually cycle.

In my recent order for cleaning supplies from Midway, I just placed an order for 4 50rnd boxes of each to try each out. Should have then next week.
I've heard great things about both rounds from Aguila.
Then I'll buy a few bricks of each after I figure which one I like the best.

I"ve been using this target ammo from Aguila and love the heck out of it... all my 22's consume it well, and run much tighter groups then the cheapo $20 a brick ammo, considering this stuff I get for between 30-32 / brick. No flyers yet, and no FTF or FTGB.

I've used the colibri, very dirty and weak, wouldn't think it would kill a chipmunk past 10ft. Not very accurate as well. A airgun is as quiet and deadlier

Sounds like Midway has the better deal. They are good people to deal with. It's been a few years since I've bought from them, but there was never an issue. First class IMO.

finnmosin,
I've had nothing but good experience with midwayusa.
back order dates are accurate.
just need to watch pricing.

H.S. Mantooth Jr.,

Which colibri did you try? the regular (375fps) or the super (550fps) ?

I've even found the CCI CB (700fps) to be dirty as well, but work well enough in a rifle - but can't cycle the 1022's bolt.
The CCI CB is very quiet in a rifle, but no so in a pistol.
Almost like a normal 22lr in a pistol. So looking forward to trying the Aguilas.
I only punch targets with the CB's with my family. Makes for very quiet outdoor shooting.
While one can get really nice air rifles, (IMHO) there is no air pistol that comes even close 2nd to shooting a K22 S&W revolver and the CBs make even more family fun.

They look similar to the early American made BB caps. Don't know why Aguila calles them a long rifle. With a 20 grain bullet and just a primer it is about the same basic cartridge as the 6mm German BB cap I used to shoot. Not enough noise to spook what you are shooting at, not too bad for accuracy and you can actually see the bullet travel to (or past) the target. With some Kentucky windage the next shot will take that pigeon off the peak of the roof or power line and leave the roof or wire intact. A heap of fun to shoot. Not recommended for use in a semiautomatic gun but would work. The odds of a bullet becoming lodged in the bore are quite high. The odds of anything bad happening with a second shot are non existant, but don't fire high power ammo until you have made sure the bore is clear. Here is a little better photo.

Default CCI CB shorts or longs

I've killed 4 skunk and 2 racoon so far this past month with CB's and my M44US. The CB shoots a 29grain bullet and all you hear is the bullet plunking into the critter. Best of all the CCI are made in America. Just Another Old Doggy, Don

ramit;

Very sorry for the confusion . I copied and pasted the add from J&G Sales email I received to the post. I have not shot any of this ammo.
