I'm not gonna' change a thing on it or disassemble it to check. It obviously shoots just fine. Like they say, no sense trying to fix that which ain't broke[n].

I am not suggesting you change a thing. It is obviously a great shooting carbine. All I said was for you to check to see if the barrel rises when you take off the band and hand guard. It is important to have the receiver seat into the recoil plate correctly. I just thought you would want to know if you are crushing wood under the recoil plate.

Thanks 6 ring. I'll check it out next time I do a detail strip--when ever that will be.

I ordered a modified band form Fulton Armory, part no. FA-C-004, type 2 band (type 3 modified) it still has the three small ribs that support the barrel and my New York carbine great.

So bend the two metal tabs under the barrel band, so they hold the barrel more tightly. Works best if the band is off the barrel. But if it's really loose you can bend it some anyways.

With a band tight and square to the barrel. And a band that sucks up tight to the stock. You should have a barrel that doesn't move around on ya.

It's not pistol grip. It's a protruding pistol grip which is different.
