Default Broken I cut WRA stock

This will make you want to cry. Several years ago a friend of mine dropped his early WRA carbine onto a concrete floor, breaking the stock into two pieces. After removing the metal hardware he gave me this piece.

That is a very strange "break" at the wrist - straight across the grain? That wood must have been compromised in some other fashion ... like a saw

Could be fixed, but would be a real time pain. Who used the saw?

That's a shame ! I would never guess one to break like that.

Kinda looks like someone took the gun by the barrel end and swung it { like a baseball bat } against the corner of a brick or concrete wall.

Someone cut it nearly half in two. Was just a small bit of stock holding it together. Sad

I would think it broke and he cut it off to save the butt portion, not that it broke there from a fall.

Next time I see or talk with him I will ask him what the exact circumstances were as to what happened. Could be a while as I've not seen him since the spring.

I do remember someone mentioning stools made out of carbine stocks. If you look at cut end it appears to have some mileage on it. Perhaps this was used for something similar? look at the butt to see if any mounting screw holes.
