Default For Sale: 4.2M SA USMC 0-67 Rebuild

****** SPF ******

Folks: I have for sale an excellent , 99%, condition, USMC O-67 (Overhauled 1967) , 4.2M Springfield Armory M1 Garand.

This was a South Store Service Grade pick-up from a few years back, and has the CMP certificate available.

This rifle does not appear to have been fired since it was rebuilt at either the Barstow or Albany USMC depots in 1967. I have not fired it since purchase.

Crisp 0-67 electropencil markings below rear sight, and still has several grease pencil markings from time of rebuild on the receiver and trigger group.

This rifle consists of a zinc reparked barrelled receiver, serial number 4252870, with what appears to be the original 2-53 dated SA barrel. Barrel MW is 2, TE is less than 4. Nice clean crown and mirror bore. Chamber is not in the white.

All other parts are either mixed era re-parked SA , or new parts with darker parkerization.

Some specifics on the parts:

Reparked -19 SA Bolt
Reparked -12 SA Trigger Housing, with stamped guard, and WII hammer and safety.
Reparked SA D35382 Post War Op-rod.

Excellent condition refinished USGI late WWII (?) Walnut stock. The original proof "P" and the small ordnance mark on bottom of grip are still quite visible, but no markings show on left side of receiver (GAW,NFR, JLG). There are a few handling/shipping dings on the rear handguard.

The front end (gas cylinder/lock/screw/front sight) are all post war, and appear to have been new production at time of overhaul.

The rear sight includes DRC windage and IHC elevation assemblies.

Though USMC O-6x rifles were used as Sec of Navy Trophy rifles, this one has no documentation to suggest that applies.

If you want a M1 with indisputable USMC provenance, in the collectible 4.2M post war serial number range, this is worth considering.

I'm including an excellent condition original USGI web sling.

Price is $895 Shipped Insured to your 03 C&R FFL, or your favorite 01 FFL Dealer. Your 01 FFL must accept shipments from a non-FFL.

Please contact me with any questions.

First unqualified "I'll take it", via PM or email, gets it!...Thanks!

[QUOTE=...be too hard to not shoot.[/QUOTE]

It was very hard not to at least shoot a few rounds through this!

This rifle is rock solid....the Marines who refinished and rebuilt this rifle back in 1967 did a damn fine job. I assume there was a fire breathing Gunnery Sergeant who kept an eye on the armorers!

Time for someone else to enjoy this one for a while. I'll take the $$ from this and buy something new to enjoy for the next few years.....got my eye on something already!

Ditto! Saw this while checking the site on my work break last night. Told myself if it hadn't sold by the time I got home from work, I would buy it.
Glad someone saved me.

Just to clarify, I wasn't the winner. Thats OK, I'm SUPPOSED to be paring down the collection... but that one I had to take a shot at.
