Default Bent both ways

I took an even harder look at the sight today. Looks like mine has the binding screw side bent both down and forward. Should be easy enough to straighten out once I get the slide off and in the vice.

About your bent screw, it's easily straightened by just leaving it in the slide where the threads are protected and the screw is held tight. Then just tap it the way you want to with a piece of wood.
As for your slide. It appears to me that your screw might be worn at the tip and so it doesn't tighten down far enough to tighten against the side of the slide.
I've seen most 1903's with the tightening knob bent, but that never resulted in such an ill fitting slide.
