Called back, asked for Service Grade, gave credit card on 6-18-19
Email from CMP notification of shipping on 6-19-19
Picked up pistol from FFL 6-20-19

Markings on left side of lower: UNITED STATES PROPERTY and tiny symbol and S17 on frame behind trigger
Markings on right side of lower: No. 399624 (FFL says it is a Colt) and letters SA
Grips appear to be replacements. White painted number 221 on left grip
Upper slide has ITHACA GUN CO., INC. on left side. No other marking visible.
The only thing I see on the barrel are the capital letters SH (left side) and what appears to be a capital D or P on the right side.
Any information about this pistol will be appreciated.

Sorry I missed this one originally. Your Colt frame was originally shipped some time between 8/1/18 and 9/3/18, most likely to Bush Terminal in Brooklyn. The Ithaca slide, Keyes grips, and High Standard barrel would all have been picked up during a WWII (or post war) overhaul. Rack number on grip probably added much later.

Sounds like you have a 1911 Colt frame and Ithaca slide. There are no direct SRS book hits however (and no direct correlation to yours), in one book, your s/n is within a large listed range of s/n's attributed to the USMC in Nicaragua on 071530. In another book, the closest s/n's to yours are "399599 060322 USMC - Pensacola NAS (Surveyed)" & "399642 070743 WWII Donation to US Navy". I do not have my Clawson's book with me. Suggest you post your s/n in the "Shipment info on pistols" thread at this link http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=223499

'thebearpack' is doing a great service of helping folks with info he can find. A question - does the frame of your pistol have the finger cuts added behind the trigger? Photos would be nice, too. Congratulations on your getting your pistol.

Usmc in Nicaragua on 7/15/30? Maybe it was chesty puller or "iron man" Lee's Colt 1911...... they were assigned there from 1928-1931...... ...... hey one can dream right??? Lol

Bearpack,
These are the reason I didn't seek a pistol from this CMP release; content with these two from family members of the "Greatest Generation". Would appreciate any info on Remington Rand 1911A1 #14232xx and Colt 1911 #3277xx. Many thanks

Thumbs up my 1911A1 colt/RR

Bearpack,
My RR frame is NO 1518967. It is gorgeous mixmaster. Any information on where it was sent?
I posted some component details, as per Clawson
I appreciate any info, and thank you for your input to the group.
Mike

Fantastic heirlooms, congrats.

The RR shipped from the factory in March 1944.

The Colt shipped to Bush Terminal, Brooklyn on 6/12/18.

Can't tell you where it went unfortunately, only that it shipped from RR in May 1944.
