Default WWII Movie Star Veterans and Notables.
Not getting any younger, help me (add to this List) Includes TV also. Audie Murphy, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Glenn Ford, Ernest Bourgnine, Tom Landry. Please add to list, should be a lot more. A lot were Western Movie actors Thnks.

Tony Curtis and Larry Storch served in the Navy during WW2 on the USS Proteus (AS-19) a Fulton-class submarine tender in the United States Navy.

Clark Gable. US Army Air Force, and was off the screen for three years, flying combat missions in Europe.

If you are including "notables" on your list of WWII veterans, let's add Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Bob Dole and George H.W. Bush.

Now let's play "Sesame Street:" On that list - "one of these things is not like the others...." Which of the above veterans is not like the others, and why?

Let's see.....

Bob Dole never was President or Vice President.

Dwight Eisenhower was the last President of 48 states, only President of 49 states, first President of 50 states.

Gerald Ford was never elected to either office, but served as Vice President and President.

Well some folks say that Eisenhower was not 'in' combat, but he was in WW1 I was told. Bush 2 was a National Guard

But I'm not sure

Not to spoil it, but I think there is a website that has all the celebrities listed who served in WW2 - Kris Kristofferson was a helicopter pilot in vietnam
