The last Collector Grades offered from CMP were $2K(+ tax) for a late Post War. I bought one three years ago....

Thanks Shomway,
That's about what I was thinking too. Just wanted to be sure so he wouldn't get taken.

the market is pretty soft, last Collector grade I purchased from private individual was a HRA $1800 shipped, I have seen them as low as $1600. Not saying you cant get more but may take some time
Its a buyers market

Put a HRA correct grade on consignment at GunauctionsUSA.com in Largo Florida, it went for $1400.00, had the same rifle on consignment for 2 months at a local gun shop asking $1350.00, lots of lookers, no buyers. Old Greek rack grade was snapped up for $725.00 in just a couple days at same store.

Default Paperwork?

If its REALLY a "Collector" grade with CMP paperwork to back it up $2,000 is a good deal. Anything less is just a story......
True Collector grades are difficult to come by. Who knows if they will ever have any more available ever?

I purchased one of the last Collector Grades sold at the South Store for $2,000 + $200 tax for a total of $2,200.
I felt it was easily worth it since it was SA SN 5799861 and looked to be unused including being dry as toast and having white looking powder still all over it. I later found out it was pictured in the GCA Journal as one with an original WWII part, as built.

I saw quite a few Collector Grades at the store when they were available. Those that looked like new I think were easily worth the money.
But I also saw quite a few that had varying degrees of wear and tear (use) on them that seemed to me might not bring as much when time came to re-sell. They were still nice, but just not unblemished. Curb appeal and provenance does have an impact on the amount you might get.
