Default 9mm ammo price?

I have a local store selling UMC 9mm(metal case) at 32 cents a round...seems to be a decent price in todays market...do you agree?

My local Walmart had a few boxes of Federal 9mm for $14.67 today. After checking gunbot prices, maybe I should have grabbed some. One thing I noticed that is getting scarce is 12 ga. target loads and light field loads. Plenty of the high priced 12 ga. on the shelves, though.

Got several boxes of Winchester 100 pack for $23 at Wal Mart. That is probably the best price going. The only down side is that the Wal Mart stores don't always have it in stock and when they do it goes fast. But I felt it was worth the wait.

My local WalMart just raised the price on the Winchester 9mm 100 round value packs from $24.97 to $26.77, but that's still the cheapest I can find.

They also had a bunch of ammo on clearance today...

Federal American Eagle 62 gr M855 in 150 round boxes for $61
Independence (Made in Israel, imported by Federal) 5.56x45 55 gr 20 round boxes for $6
Winchester 20 gauge heavy game loads for $3 a box
Winchester 12 gauge target loads for $4 a box
Winchester 12 gauge 3" steel shot for $7 a box

I just bought 1000 rounds of GECO 124gr 9mm (very good ammo) for just under 28 cents per round shipped. Was pretty happy with that.

As prices soared and availability failed, I went ahead and tooled up to reload 9mm.

Probably cost 500 bucks to get all set up, but considering I'm making good ammo as fast as I can shoot it for 9-11c per it was worth the expense. (and guys, its easier than I thought it was - I use a Dillon Square Deal B, and there is no magic to it)

even if you put it against a good deal price now of $15 a box, after I passed 2000 rounds the equipment was paid for and everything from here out is cheap.

I took a friend out a few days ago and shot through 4-500 rounds, and it didn't feel like a big deal (especially compared to what range ammo sold at most of the ranges is costing around here.)

I still buy factory SD ammo, but for range/plinking, go check out the Dillon SDB and make your own, I wish I had discovered it YEARS ago.

(edit: redid my math for cost per round, reloaded, and added a couple of cents.)
