Default H&r m12 (5200)

Got to see and shoot one for the first time to day.

What a rifle!!!!

The weight, the sights, THE TRIGGER. Best target rifle trigger I have ever used. Accurate as all get out.....Beast of a gun. Nice smooth action and lockup. I need one!

The only negative I observed was the lack of construction/shape to the grip.

Whose got one? Love to see pictures of the rifle and/or targets

Here's one:

That's an old Lyman 15X scope. The H&R M12 action is a loose copy of the Winchester 52 action. Can't have a much better pedigree than that. Fine shooters. These rifles were the real deal at the CMP. I never paid more than $225 for one. That was without sights but eventually the CMP had correct sights for them at decent prices. Maybe someday the ARMY will find a pile of them in some warehouse and the CMP will offer them again. We can dream, right?

For those who don't have access to one of the old external adjustment scopes, Ken Viani makes a mount that will allow use of Weaver-style rings without drilling any new holes.

On the other hand if you just have to have an old-timey scope there's these:

Leatherwood offers several scopes like this. The 3X and 6X are of greatest interest. You can buy them from MidwayUSA for around $300. I've read reviews that are quite positive although the reviewers were a bit challenged with zeroing with the external adjustments. There is a reason why they don't make them like this no more.

I have one, great shooters. A great training aid for my M-70 300 WM 1000 yard rifle.

They are beasts and I love mine. If you can find a good one anywhere near $500-$600 these days...Better Jump (with sights that is )
