Default Shipping ammo to california

Can some folks out there help me on this. Is it ok to ship ammo to another
private sale in California ? I saw an email from the NRA about no sales of
handgun ammo. What about rifle ammo ? I heard Cabela's and Cheaper than dirt will stop selling ammo in California in 2011.

That law goes into effect after the first of the year. It affects handgun ammo only.
Right now there are several court challanges to the law due to its vaguness.

Tacer ammo is definately "verbotten" state wide................state law.
AP rifle ammo is okay, per state law. However, some idividual counties or municipalities may ban it.

Threads like these even make it tougher on us Kalifornians. Please don't speculate on what the law is, somehow speculation becomes fact. It's hard enough dealing with the laws that are forced upon us without speculation stopping sales. If you have a link to the law for the OP, provide it, otherwise move on.

Exactly, I am so tired of the rumors spread by people that haven't even taken the time to read the laws, but spread FUD. There is a good discussion about this here. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=142277

I almost hate to say this but most of us view CA as a lost cause that is never going to be made right again. Why should we waste our time trying to determine what your laws and regulations are when the people living there can't even agree. There are so many shooters and collectors living in other States who are buying and trading that it's not worth the hassle to try to find out if shipping a box of AP to a resident in San Fransicko is legal or not. To use your own words, we choose to move on.

I have a brother and many shooting friends in CA and I truly feel sorry for them. But, the bottom line is that these restrictions were not forced upon anyone, they were voted on by your elected representatives, whether it be at the State or City level. That's where you should be venting, not at guys like me or others on the shooting and collecting Forums. The truth often hurts but it is what it is.

Fine, you think it's a lost cause, I get it. What people like you don't seem to get is the damage that you do to us here in CA every time you start spreading FUD with your post, but then again, maybe you do and that is your intent.

It seem like every time sales to CA are mentioned, you show up and try to scare people without any facts to back up your comments. You are only helping the anti-gun movement in this state and making the situation worse by scaring people into believing in restrictions that don't exist.

If we are such a lost cause, then why don't you just leave it alone?

Default Shipping ammo to California

Guys, thanks for the responses, but lets stop the arguing about whose fault this issue is.

I should have stated that I am wondering if i can ship 7.62 ball
ammo to a person in california. The buyers says its ok. As far as
the shipper, they say its ok. I would assume the shipper has the final responsibility on if its ok to ship or not.

Just wanted to know if anyone has recently shipped to California. Thanks

I agree. I've deleted my posts. All of us have enough enemies without fighting among ourselves.

Pretty much everything is good to go in CA except tracers and AP handgun ammo. Don't go by what CTD will or won't ship. They even refuse to ship a M1 Bayonet to CA. Their shipping policies for CA go way beyond what is legal or not legal.
