Arrowhead IHC on the auction.. $8k

Is it just me, or has the world lost it’s mind!!!?

Nearly $8000 for an Arrowhead on the cmp auction site!? With over 8 days to go!!! I think that’s that highest I’ve seen for a single Garand.

Unless it is a late assembly, the stock looks like the Julian date is to late to me.

A 6 million HRA went for a shade under 10K and I think a few very early Winchesters went in the 13K rage. I know the HRA was paid for and went. I couldn't say on the Winchesters.

Amazing. 10k for an M-1. Watching my surity lose about 7% each quarter. While my boat has increased 26% in value. A friggin BOAT! Why do we have the most corrupt, immoral degenerates, most of whom couldn't hold a job in the private sector, in control of the federal government? Anyone care to explain to me how the speaker of the house has accrued 208 million dollars? I'll do the mods a favor and stop right here. While I consider investing in an International Harvester.

Please excuse the thread drift. Been ticked off since I received my most recent statement. But, in keeping with the theme of this thread, I've never lost money on any firearm I've ever purchased and then sold. Would never advise this as an investment strategy but it is a fact. Nice to have a hobby that, in the end, pays for itself. Don't know about 10k for an H+R though. Ever tried selling old golf clubs or skis? You ain't gettin bupkis.

The statement "some people have more money than sense" applies often. I'm with others tho, I've never lost money on firearms in an overall sense. Turns out they have been good investments and wife supports that finding. I'm definitely in a "stockpiling" mode right now, some vintage rifles, and reloading supplies.

With only 400 of them ever made and a lot less than that known to still exist if I had 10K that I was willing to spend on one Garand a HRA 6M would be one I would seriously consider paying that for.

I have lost money on selling individual firearms, but overall the balance sheet is five figures in the black. I think I would rather spend my $8k on four correct grades or restored WWII SAs than one statistical oddity, just my personal preference.
