If you are looking for cheap HXP and do not qualify or want to wait for the CMP to process your paperwork, may I suggest: http://www.ammogarand.com/3006-m2-fm...400505039.html. 400/rounds for $250.

I have not. But the ammo was made for the M1

The head stamp on the ammo is,
Crown........(for the Kings royal mark),
M 1.........(for M1 Garand)
44...........(for 1344 or 1965 by our calendar).

I recently picked up some of these exact ammo for a really great price. I know this is an old thread but has anyone fired it through their M1's?

There have been reports on various forums that it functions. I don't think I ever saw real accuracy testing or anything that detailed.

Thank you, Eljay. I'll keep on researching it before firing.

I saw a bunch of the same headstamped cases at the local range and most had ruptures half way up. Never knew what that headstamp was, the zombie thread answers that.
I don't think I'd trust any of that ammo in my firearms.

Fellow at my range was shooting that stuff in his M1. The rifle was short stroking on some rounds and brass ended up at the 4 oclock position.
I gave him a clip of HXP and the rifle functioned perfectly. Maybe quality control is lacking on the Iranian stuff

Do you see the crown on the headstamp? This was Sha era - aka pre-ayatollah-assahola manufacture.

Found a bunch of this at the range a few weeks ago. Looks like someone went thru north of. 300 rounds. Looked at a few but most went into the brass bucket.
