Default No more "CMP Customer"...

Well guys, I started the "CMP Customer" title well over a year ago. SInce then I have changed nearly 5000 titles. It started out having 20-30 emails a week. Now I'm getting 100+ emails a week and cannot devote the time to looking up individual customers to add the moniker.

The CMP added this additional step as a security feature for the forum to hinder the possible threat of fake sales on the gun board. It was my idea, I pushed for it telling my higher ups that I could handle it. Well, now I cannot. My work load has increased and I cannot devote the time to do this. We have over 10,000 members on the forum now. I get an email from 10% of you almost on a daily basis. If I take an extended holiday weekend and do not check my email, Monday morning is a blast of 100 emails that all need attention.

I apologize in advance for the trouble and confusion this is going to cause. I HIGHLY suggest that EVERYONE be very cautious buying and selling on the forum. If you have any doubts, do not do it, or go through a mediator. I'm sure folks can chime in on how to correctly go through an online gun sale/trade.

The CMP is NOT liable for sales made on the forum. If the Marketplace creates any unnecessary heat it will be removed from the forum. It was created as a courtesy to our customers. It does not benefit the company at all.

I thank you all in advance for your complete understanding.

I understand.

But I also think the "Marketplace" does benefit the company.

No Marketplace = Less forum traffic = less sales talk.

See if the boss will give you some help with your tasks. Part time clerk, assistant, etc.

Thanks for all the work in doing that. I know that I appreciated the feature, and all your hard work in making it happen.

Understand your being overwhelmed. I attached a screencap of
my account page with customer number hoping to lessen the
burden but I can now see that the workload would require
a herculean effort.

Are you planning on processing the requests you've received
to date and closing the board to new requests?

Anyway, I used to run a website forum and I know how
daunting the task is! Thanks for all your efforts!

Get ready for the emails from people who "Missed out" on the CMP customer tag. It's not fair. You should have limited them to 1 customer change in a lifetime.

Oh wait! You did.

Whenever I upgrade to the new forum software I can chose to wipe all of the old user titles. For now, enjoy the moniker, but don't plan to keep it.

Maybe forum registration should be limited to CMP customers, which could be implemented without much coding overhead by having the forum registration page accessible only by linking through the estore.

Then there will be all the emails from the people when it goes away. You can't win!

Any possibility of getting some volunteer help for the routine stuff? I think a call for help would be answered quickly.
