Default Aerosol Oil?

Anyone know of any aerosol oils that dont contain solvents? I was using a can i forget what it was, (came in a orange can with a black cap) and ran out and tossed it out. I thought it was Outers but wasnt sure, I went to the store and I saw hoppes had some that came in the exact same packaging and decided to pick up a can. Well when I got home and sprayed some on a patch and it smelled like rubbing alcohol and Acetone (I was completely shocked I expected it to smell almost odorless and mild like the other can I used). After comparing the Aerosol Hoppes oil to a bottle of hoppes liquid oil it seems to me like Hoppes switched up their ingredients and made more of a solvent type oil (like Remoil). Anyone else notice this? Would this newer Hoppes hurt the finish on any of my older stocks? Anyone have a better spray type oil they can recomend? Thanks Guys

I've been using Break Free CLP since the early 90's, and it was the only CLP I've used while serving in the Army. It does not damage plastics, wood, or synthetics. It is available in liquid and aerosol format in a large variety of container types.

I keep a few 12oz aerosol cans in my home for cleaning firearms after returning from the range or prior to use if they've been in the safe a while. I also use the 4oz aerosol and 4oz "dropper" bottles with my range bag for on-the-range use.

This stuff also works great on knives, entrenching tools, etc.

Kroil is good stuff, but you'll never use "oderless" in the same sentence.

Ballistol is available in both pourable and spray.
It is wood, plastic, and leather safe.

Gunzilla is pump spray.

I'm partial to the G96 spray oil. It smells like bubble gum when sprayed on and it won't injure stock finishes and does an excellent job rust protecting.

I use LPS2. I swear it is the same as Breakfree, same color and smell. Excellent results over the last 20 years.....chris3
