Default Show me your M14

This is me during TET 1968 Vietnam. I was 22 year old on the bunker line during the attack, we were not issued the M16 at that time. My M14 never let me down during the fight. This picture was taken by our CO who wanted a thumbs up from his men during the down time in the fighting, I gave him one but was thinking.... WTF. We spent five days and six nights of intense fighting. I sill think, WTF.

OK, my long wait is over... my SAI new out of the box M1A came in yesterday.

I went to basic and AIT using the M14, was issued on when I went to the 82nd in Jan '67, Went to the M16a1 in June of that year with the 101st in SE Asia.

Got my M1A in '77 started shooting HP for the guard, then my M1A was coverted to a Super Match.

In '78 I went to the USAMU Sniper School using the M21. Later taught Sniper Schools using the M1C/D and M21.

It was a "Loaded M1A" and I sold it for $1100.00 with only 100 rounds through it. The photos I posted were the original for sale photos that I posted on the HKPRO forum, where I sold the rifle. $1100.00..........what I would do for that rifle now. It had a lot of USGI parts in it, too. What a shame.

This is my Competition Service Rifle custom built by a friend and myself. Heavy weight Chrome barrel, 7.62mm forged receiver, lots of USGI parts, including my last NIW TRW bolt, wrapped in a McMillan M1A stock.
