Got the call from the CMP today at 12:42 CST

If you want to speed things up for yourself and everyone after you:

Contact your FFL-01 ahead of time and ask them to email you a copy of their FFL license.

Then make a draft email with 1911 and your name and RGN in the subject line.

In the body type out all of your info and all of your Ffl’s info. Attach the FFL.


Then when the cmp calls, they give you their own email address to email them and you can send it while you’re on the phone to speed things up. I got a shipment notification a couple hours after my call.

If your FFL is down with sending you that, good luck!

My friend just tried to do this with a new dealer they are working with and they told them they can not. It is illegal something about, then they would try and have it mailed directly to there home. I guess using a new ffl dealer location with better hours can be a little more difficult. :(

It's not illegal.
However, the FFL has the right to do business as he/she/they see fit (legally), and many FFLs choose to not give out copies of their license.

Tell your friend to simply find another FFL.

My entry into the prognostication game.

I'm a bit shy of 31k on my RGN. 250 a week would mean ~40 weeks from the beginning of Round 2. I'll add a fudge factor of 5 weeks for holidays and delays, so I'm predicting I get to say "Happy Valentine's Day!" when CMP calls.

Same with me. I've already been to FFL to start the transfer paperwork, just will have to wait till they call and give that info to the FFL to send the license for me. I can wait a day or two, it's going to FFL jail for seven days anyway when it comes.

My FFL01 had no problem giving me a copy of his license. I’m 21780 and I’ve also got a Garand order in I mailed on 2/3 and I’m having fun wondering which will come first. Lol.

My Wife has 23310 and by rough calculations she may get the call near her birthday on 7-18. Nice birthday present. In round 1 I was hoping to get mine around my birthday in November, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, finally got it in early January so it was Happy New Year. LOL
