Nothing here. No call, no junk mail, nothing.

Maybe they are saving to best 1911’s for us. 20998 and waiting

tcoppage 04-30-2021 03:04 PM

Yep looks that way.

Wife was about 210xx I think, she got the call today. :<) I had her roll the dice and pick a rack grade. I already got one of the "as new" from the armory Service Grades in Rd 1.

How far past my number should wait before calling. My number is 20886 ? Last one I seen was 21121.

I'm 20825, got the call yesterday or the day before and they shipped it today.

I was also one of those that never got the RGN email, I just asked what my number was when I got the call

First, @SIG4EVA - this is not personally directed at you and please don't take it that way. But your points are representative of a large number of commenters on this thread as to the "randomness" (or lack thereof) of the process.

Sorry for the long rant, I just couldn't stand it anymore. And no, I have not already received a pistol nor did I get a low RGN. In fact, I'm one of the 1800 or so who hasn't even been notified of my RGN yet.

I get it. First of all, I love CMP and have a few rifles already and I'm very thankful for the opportunity to add a reasonably priced 1911 to the WWII collection. Yes, I was one of the lucky high RGN's and I'm a bit butthurt. It's merely speculation but considering I have a year to wait, I need something to keep my busy. I'll wait just like everyone else.

I think you are still ok. You're close enough to the last number being called. If not today I would suspect it will be early next week for you.

Different people working different batches at different paces. We will all get our turn at the 1911 well.

I'm just inquisitive, but not second guessing. I sent in my package at the deadline, and I think I might just have one of the highest RNGs out there (I have not seen any one higher posted here, local forums, or reddit). So, as I see it, I have something like 13-14+ months to wait, and will use the lead time to quietly set aside $75 a month.

And if they only have rack grades left by then, well I'll have $200 extra saved, which will pay for ... uh, well ... one 50 round box of .45 ACP ammo at this point lol.

I mailed my packet in the first week, don't remember the date, and my assigned RGN is 27114 and I was notified of this on April 6. My RGN being so high tells me that there was a randomness to the assigning of the numbers.

I worked for a subcontracter at one of the small arms warehouses at ANAD doing visual inventory. The M1911's are in crates of 100-200 each, I cannot remember exactly. And when I was looking at the crates there was no order of condition as to how they were placed in each row. Each crate only contained one type of condition.

So,,,when crates were pulled to send to the CMP the material handler just got the next crate in line. They dont look to see which condition they are pulling or pull the best ones first. You have to remember that the M1911's are no different than shirts to the people working in the warehouses or to the Army. The crates are not marked by manufacturer either. Just a different product with security protocol.

I seriously doubt that the CMP would search through all the crates, to select the better collectible pistol to sell first.

So there is just a good of a chance to get a collectable gem at the end of the program as at the beginning.

The whole process is completely random, it doesnt matter if your RGN is 20xxx or 30xxx, your chances of getting the condition you are wanting is the same throughout the program.

So just relax, sit back, and be happy you have the opportunity to get to own these pieces of history.

Eric
