springfield m1a pricing
trying to figure out what to ask for my springfield armory standard m1a that was made in late 1990's, is in excellent condition and has been fired very little over the years, it came with a winchester bolt, a hra operating rod and hra trigger assembly, it sits in one of the old fiberglass mil stocks, dont have the one anymore that it originally came in.
just trying to get a ballpark idea, have heard that the older ones with mil parts are more desirable. thank you |
Barrel...USGI?

m1a
i dont think so , have never had it apart to see all of barrel, , all i can see on side under operating rod is inc genesco il
flash hider does not have bayonet lug |
Any chance this is a "5-line" receiver? SN range?
|
m1a
no, its 107xxx i made a mistake in original posting, rifle was made in late 1990's, not the 80's, sorry for the mistake

There is a real nice one on the M14 now for 1800. with Usgi wood and all USGI parts. I have a 91 Preban with WRA barrel would ask about 18-1900 also. I think for yours with gennese barrel you are in the 15-1600 range.

5 line receivers stopped around 1990. Prebans around 92 I think. Mine was aug 91 and all USGI. later was hit or miss. Nothing wrong with Genessee barrels, But a 63 Winchester just has some class.

IIRC...... lock the bolt to the rear and read the markings on the side of the barrel, like an M1 Garand.
The value of the barrel (rifle too) changes if you have a commercial SA barrel or a USGI barrel which is then SA INC marked. |
My Winchester barrel has no side marks. Must take off handguard

$1200 to $1400 depending on condition is realistic. I see dealers at gun shows trying to sell used, standard M1A rifles for $2000, but no one buys them. MSRP is a little over $1600 for a new M1A. Most stores sell them for less.
