Repro M1A1 Stock?

This is on an Inland Carbine I've owned for probably close to thirty years.

I'd always assumed it was a repro/counterfeit because it is cut for the M2 selector switch. But it also has some markings inside and on the butt plate that would seem beside the point for a cheap reproduction.

Inside the stock is "4S082" and there's a fairly faint letter "K" cast into the butt plate.

Apropo of nothing is the handguard is a close match to the stock itself. These are no markings on the handguard that I've been able to find.

Anyone have info? Who made these? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c08ee28d4d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7fb58fc26a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0f4f23eb39.jpg

I believe you are correct in that is is a repro stock; but the M2 cut is not a disqualifier for a GI stock.

More pictures of the hardware and inside of the stock would help tell more, but the buttplate is not GI.

I have had an M1A1 stock for a very long time myself. It is a nice walnut, high wood stock. Locks up tight. Bought it from Sarco or Numrich, can't remember which. I do know it is Italian made because I pulled a little white "Made in Italy" sticker off the inside of the stock when I got it. There are no numbers on the inside of the stock. It does has a "C" cast into the butt plate in the same place yours has a "K".

Here's some info regarding real vs fake although it probably isn't the only source one should rely on.

Here is where one should read and pay attention:

As Bonnie said above, reproduction M1A1 stocks were often described as being made
in "Italy" in years past. I'm sure they have been made many places; some are much better copies than others.
