I got the call yesterday for RGN 20111. Went with a Service Grade. I am really excited for the pistol to arrive and to see what I get. I was a starting to get a little worried as I saw a few people with higher RGNís than mine getting the call last week. Did my packet get misplaced? Did someone make an error and they accidentally skipped over me? It seems like they donít go in order exactly but they are close. If you find yourself in a similar situation be patient. They will be calling you within a couple days.

ArizonaKid 04-13-2021 11:51 AM

I never said anything negative about CMP staff. Do not say that I did. In all of my dealings with them they have been great.
I did not ask about my specific application/RGN.
I did ask to understand how the 1911 RGN process works, I donít think thatís an unreasonable request, however you are free to have a different opinion.
I donít play the lottery, but the rules and procedures are transparent.
My opinion is that transparency is a good thing, again you are entitled to alternative opinion.

They are not going to explain their process and since the numbers are going out...it's a done deal.

That's a great piece of advice. Just put it in my phone.
And I'm 27,457 I have several months, but that's okay, I'm just happy to have a number.

If it is postmarked before the deadline, wait patiently until May, THEN contact CMP.
If possibly you mailed after the deadline then re-read the rules and try again in round 3.

I scrupulously followed the instructions and forum posts before sending in my packet and double checked all entries. Mailed it in before the deadline along with my friend at same post office at the same time. He got his notification over a week ago. I was told there are issues with emails ending in Comcast.net, yet I receive email from folks when I try to find out if the packet was received. That is why I am worried. If I miss out this time, I will definitely use FedEx or UPS to be able to track my packet and not have to thru all this worry. Thanks for all the help.

From what I have seen there are an increasing number of whiners with regards to the RGN, the 1911 they have received, etc. If you don't like the process, don't do it. When you buy a lottery ticket and inevitably don't win, do you demand an audit every week? At this point I think that the CMP should have charged a small fee to enter the lottery for dealing with all of the crap. The CMP is comprised of great people. Let them do their job and if you have an RGN, you will eventually have the awesome opportunity to pick up a 1911/1911a1.

Drop the mic!!

Abrasive posts like this are not helpful. The guy was just looking for insight on the process. Some of you folks really need to relax.

#22902, I'll guess mid July.

SeeEmPee 04-14-2021 01:31 PM

Wooohooo! Got my RGN (#22099).

Being a former inmate of Massachusetts and not even having been allowed to throw my hat in the ring the first time, this is very exciting!

Lt. Thompson 04-14-2021 04:38 PM

Packet was sent on 04MAR21.
RNG: 32,762

What does one do in the case that they are stationed overseas when their number comes up?

Can't the FFL hold it till you return ? How well do you know your FFL ?
Be safe.

Picked up my Field grade 1911 pistol today and I am completely in shock!!I think I really have something special here. Looks like an all original COLT World War I 1911 from what I can tell from the serial number I believe itís from 1913. Itís pretty amazing I just literally picked it up now so I havenít taken it apart yet but I plan to soon by the way I think itís the original finish and original barrel. Thanks CMP couldnít be happier!!!

So you may still have an RGN and get "the call" without ever knowing your RGN.

I'm that guy.
The sweet lady said my RGN was 20290. I mailed my packet in the day after it opened up. When I was buying Garands online, I rarely if ever got a heads up email that my card was charged or that one was on the way. We checked and CMP does have my correct email. Who knows?

Colt Serial number 376261 dates to mid 1918. The highest production range that year, ser #'s 233601-580600

The slide could be from anywhere between 1914 to 1945.

An original barrel from your ser # range would not have "Colt .45 Auto" on top like that. It is probably a commercial replacement post-WWII.

Not all original, but a great Colt! Congrats! :)

aljkw 04-14-2021 07:28 PM

Picked up my new field grade 1911A1 today. Not sure why it was marked field maybe other than the replacement TZ slide. Has rebuild ANAD 8/90 stamp and GHD stamp on it as well as faint cross cannons. 1985 new barrel.

would have liked matching frame to receiver but very happy with it.

https://imgur.com/a/1RD4C2E

As nice as it looks I probably could have gone rack grade.

The slide is original to 1918 ďmodel of 1911Ē on slide is only produced
Before WW2 before 1911A1ís.

The barrel you could be right I will need to do more research on.

The Trigger and grips are definitely a 1911A1.

This should help. Depends on lug markings.

So my guess: 08/11/2021. That'll be a nice birthday present!

Not surprised but this timeline is probably way off. Of course it assumed I had 1100 in front of me and no gaps in the numbering. It appears they are moving through the numbers at a pretty decent clip. I'm thinking now that my number may be called in the next 4-6 weeks. My new guess is now 06/06/2021.

My first round 1911 Certificate from CMP is dated June 6. Not that it means anything, but I just thought it was kind of cool that it lined up with such a historic day.

I wont have any FFLs. I'd be stationed somewhere, not deployed temporarily.

JohnnyO 04-15-2021 09:39 AM

Well I'm a somebody else that never got a RGN !! and Ali left me message that I have 5 days to get back with her. So I called this Am and talked to her and she said all three grades are good so I took a Rack Grade most of my Garands are Field Grands everyone that they sent I was happy with and this should be the same so if you never got a RGN it might pop up.

Did she tell you what your number was?

Lcpl_Parks 04-15-2021 11:08 AM

So I just got the call today. I was not called or emailed originally to tell me what my RGN was so I was worried something was wrong with my packet. Apparently I had been assigned one I just hadn't been notified for whatever reason. I asked her what my RGN was and she said 20363. I was given all 3 choices and picked Field Grade.

For those who haven't gotten a number just keep your phone close by and hopefully you will get a call soon!

LaBelle 04-15-2021 12:36 PM

My husband got his RGN of 28681 and was depressed, until I told him this second round of numbering STARTED at 20,000!

Then I explained the first round started a 1, and my RGN was 18601. Took from Sept 2019 to Jan 2021 to get mine.

He was a bit happier, finding out he was actually 10,080 numbers AHEAD of where I had been!

I am hoping my step father get his rgn soon. He was bummed that he missed out on round 1. Cmp should have all he rgns out by may and he is anxiously waiting for good news. I will be watching the round 2 threads to help him out once he gets his rgn. Hopefully soon!!

I saw that a number above 20400 (#20409) reported getting called today.

That doesn't mean everyone up to that point have reported being contacted.

So far, as far as I can tell, the calls come Mon.-Fri.

I could swear I remember someone saying they got a call on a Saturday. Can't remember if it was here or on FB. If I find it again, I'll report back.

I'm pretty discouraged given that I haven't been given a number yet, email was printed legibly, I doubt gmail will reject their emails, not in my spam folder, and that most rgns given out. Even if I email them in May, the number will probably be too high to matter lol. Time to just spend 1911 money on a non historic but far superior M17 lol

What makes you think that an RNG will be too high to matter?
Has anyone who received an RNG not been offered a 1911? (Answer is NO)
Read the forum, understand how the process works and if you haven't blown the money then when they call choose a grade.
My round 1 number was 16,000+. I got the call as expected, sent some money and got a pistol that would be $3000+ on the CMP auction.

I've been trying to keep track of when people say they have gotten a call. So far, I haven't seen any received on Sat. April 10th but I might have missed it.

The CMP has been calling for a little more than a week now, so there has only been one Saturday.

I've looked and looked. I can't find anything on what I might have seen. It could have been a person picked up their 1911 from their lgs. It sucks getting old lol
