It has been stated CMP works one case at a time and don't have any idea of condition until opened and graded. In the past rounds it was estimated they did 40 calls a day...200 a week. Based on that, you can do the math considering they seemed to have started this round at 33,000...

Thanks for the reply, Shomway. I'm excited.

When to expect

For those trying to figure out when to expect your call: I was 33146. I was called at around 10:30am on 10/6. My shipping confirmation was in my inbox when I checked it early Saturday morning 10/08. My dealer has not received the gun yet. Oh and I received my RNG number on the first day 10/3 sometime in the afternoon. Hope this helps with the guessing. I would have posted this sooner but it wouldn’t let me post.

Numbers aren't being called sequentially though so its hard to say when the call will come. There is at least one batch of us in the high 100's and low 200's that haven't been called and 300 numbers have been.

Not a big deal, as I understand CMP works in batches. Point being folks shouldn't get too hung up on guessing the call based upon when other folks did. I was driving myself nuts with that the past two weeks, especially seeing higher numbers being called, but it isn't a straight down the line calling system so you can't really pin down when the call will come. Just gotta keep your phone charged and ready for when it does!

I understand the randomness and batch process of the numbers being called, but it is still nice to hear some of the latest numbers being called. In some places they require an appointment with the county pistol permit folks to add a pistol. The open appointment days / times for scheduling can be a few weeks out. So having an idea as to the general range of RGN’s being called can help in trying to schedule the appointment a little proactively. Plus it adds a little to the excitement/ anticipation of getting a little piece of history.
That said, are there any new RGN’s that have been called beyond the 33,3xx?

How do they contact you with the RGN the first time?

Go to your FFL that you will use and ask them to FAX over a copy of their FFL with your wife's name attached to it to the number that CMP gave you. That's all you need to do.
