What does one do in the case that they are stationed overseas when their number comes up?

Can't the FFL hold it till you return ? How well do you know your FFL ?

Picked up my Field grade 1911 pistol today and I am completely in shock!!I think I really have something special here. Looks like  an all original COLT World War I 1911 from what I can tell from the serial number I believe it’s from 1913. It’s pretty amazing I just literally picked it up now so I haven’t taken it apart yet but I plan to soon by the way I think it’s the original finish and original barrel. Thanks CMP couldn’t be happier!!!

The sweet lady said my RGN was 20290. I mailed my packet in the day after it opened up. When I was buying Garands online, I rarely if ever got a heads up email that my card was charged or that one was on the way. We checked and CMP does have my correct email. Who knows?

Colt Serial number 376261 dates to mid 1918. The highest production range that year, ser #'s 233601-580600

The slide could be from anywhere between 1914 to 1945.

An original barrel from your ser # range would not have "Colt .45 Auto" on top like that. It is probably a commercial replacement post-WWII.

Picked up my new field grade 1911A1 today. Not sure why it was marked field maybe other than the replacement TZ slide. Has rebuild ANAD 8/90 stamp and GHD stamp on it as well as faint cross cannons. 1985 new barrel.

The slide is original to 1918 “model of 1911” on slide is only produced
Before WW2 before 1911A1’s.

The barrel you could be right I will need to do more research on.

The Trigger and grips are definitely a 1911A1.

Not surprised but this timeline is probably way off. Of course it assumed I had 1100 in front of me and no gaps in the numbering. It appears they are moving through the numbers at a pretty decent clip. I'm thinking now that my number may be called in the next 4-6 weeks. My new guess is now 06/06/2021.

My first round 1911 Certificate from CMP is dated June 6. Not that it means anything, but I just thought it was kind of cool that it lined up with such a historic day.

I wont have any FFLs. I'd be stationed somewhere, not deployed temporarily.

Well I'm a somebody else that never got a RGN !! and Ali left me message that I have 5 days to get back with her. So I called this Am and talked to her and she said all three grades are good so I took a Rack Grade most of my Garands are Field Grands everyone that they sent I was happy with and this should be the same so if you never got a RGN it might pop up.

Did she tell you what your number was?

So I just got the call today. I was not called or emailed originally to tell me what my RGN was so I was worried something was wrong with my packet. Apparently I had been assigned one I just hadn't been notified for whatever reason. I asked her what my RGN was and she said 20363. I was given all 3 choices and picked Field Grade.

For those who haven't gotten a number just keep your phone close by and hopefully you will get a call soon!

My husband got his RGN of 28681 and was depressed, until I told him this second round of numbering STARTED at 20,000!

Then I explained the first round started a 1, and my RGN was 18601. Took from Sept 2019 to Jan 2021 to get mine.

He was a bit happier, finding out he was actually 10,080 numbers AHEAD of where I had been!

I am hoping my step father get his rgn soon. He was bummed that he missed out on round 1. Cmp should have all he rgns out by may and he is anxiously waiting for good news. I will be watching the round 2 threads to help him out once he gets his rgn. Hopefully soon!!

I'm pretty discouraged given that I haven't been given a number yet, email was printed legibly, I doubt gmail will reject their emails, not in my spam folder, and that most rgns given out. Even if I email them in May, the number will probably be too high to matter lol. Time to just spend 1911 money on a non historic but far superior M17 lol

What makes you think that an RNG will be too high to matter?
Has anyone who received an RNG not been offered a 1911? (Answer is NO)
Read the forum, understand how the process works and if you haven't blown the money then when they call choose a grade.
My round 1 number was 16,000+. I got the call as expected, sent some money and got a pistol that would be $3000+ on the CMP auction.

And I had it send me email notifications. That way any time someone posted that they got a call, I could keep track. Someone posted that only 10% of purchasers are actually on this site, so you’ll only get a handful of emails since there’s no discussions allowed on that thread.

There’s several people posting on this forum and others that they never received their RGN but eventually received a phone call to purchase, so keep your chin up.

Also, I have a theory (just a guess) regarding people whose RGN numbers are lower than what’s currently being called, and they feel skipped. The CMP does a NICS check (as well as your FFL when you pick up the pistol). What if they do the NICS check before they call you and if they get the ok, they make the call. So maybe something is held up with the NICS check? I went with a guy to buy his first shotgun at a local sporting goods store a couple weeks ago, he did a NICS check and it was pending. It took at least five days before he got the call to come back and pick it up. So, just a guess like I said.

So, I got the call on Thursday, all three grades offered. I chose service grade. I got a shipped notification yesterday about 3:30 in the afternoon. Does anyone know if it actually did ship yesterday or will it not ship till Monday? Since they don’t provide tracking info I can’t tell. Thank you.

They don't ship on Friday or a day before a holiday. Look for shipping on Monday and delivery to your FFL on Tuesday.

20075 still not call or email. I have also called and left a voicemail and sent an email to the CMP last week and I still have heard nothing

Jeff Thomas (on FB M1 Garands, 1911 Pistols, M1 Carbines...) reported 20576 as being charged yesterday.

My number is 28,877. My guess is October 31. I have always enjoyed Halloween so why not. (I hope the don’t run out of pistols. That number is way out there.) 😀
