Official Smallbore Picture Thread

Please, someone start us off with some pictures. I don't have any pictures but we all want to see yours as your new rifles start arriving.

Thanks

Here is my post on the other thread!!!
Well the Win52C arrive this AM pleased I think??? Good shape overall good bluing some minor scratches in the wood, good bore. The rifle dates to 1960 (disregard my confusion about a serial # in my earlier posts). Interesting blue and yellow bands with possibly a P17 stencilled into the stock does anyone know the meaning or does it indicate the location of the rifle?
Possibly some DAS cartouche on the pistol grip.
Now for the not so good, maybe.
No US marking that I can see, common???
Bolt serial number does not match to rifle. Anyone have 100326C bolt? I have 100736 bolt, close in numbers but not a match.
And thboth screw to hold the rear sight in are broken off flush to the receiver. I was able to remove them fairly easy
.

I managed to get this 40XB from the previous batch last year:

http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gxRwj_i

and it came in the box unassembled, but that was OK with me as I would have disassembled it to clean it anyway.

This 700 style short action heavy barrel 40X has a 722 style bolt that is perfect for me, I am a right handed shooter and I lost the first two joints of my right hand index finger (trigger finger) in a industrial accident back in 1967 and the straight handle bolt allows me more room to put my middle finger on the trigger while grasping the wrist of this fine rifle without pressing the end of what is left of my index finger against the bolt handle.

Still love shooting as good as my old eyes will allow.
Jim

This is a great start.

Hopefully now that they're starting to arrive, we'll have more eye candy for everyone.

both have outstanding wood but both have muzzle/crown issues. the 40X has a scratch on the muzzle and, since the lands don't reach all the way to the end, I believe it's been counterbored a little. The 52 shows evidence of some work on the muzzle which may be file marks. The 52 also has a repair and repaired crack just behind the bolt handle. I'm very happy with the condition of both of them.

Both of those stocks have some great character in the wood,......nice.
