I started shooting ages ago with some old school Air Guard guy's. The coach they had used to insist making great shots and then increasing your speed to make the 10 seconds of rapid fire.

Besides "ball and dummy" drills, my favorite torture during practice is the following slow fire drill. Fire your shot, if it not a 10 or X then fire 10 dry fire shots. Then fire your next slow fire shot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if it is not a 10 or X fire 10 dry fire shots, just like you would have fired your slow fire shot. Keep going until you have 10 shots on the target or 10/10's or X's depending on skill level.

It sucks when you suck, but after a while your slow fire scores are really nice.
