Just wondering has there been a successful slide/frame reunion?

I tracked down an Ithaca slide for the Ithaca frame / TZ GI Replacement slide I received.
I couldn't be happier now.
Sold the GI replacement to offset the cost of the Ithaca slide.
Didn't get this to be a regular basis shooter.

I received a 1924 colt frame with a type 2 RR slide that I managed to trade for the proper early slide, but I'm assuming your asking about later serial numbered slides.

I have not came across a match yet but I have come dang close. Within 2 numbers close.

Slide numbers are what we really need in this thread..

From what I have read colts we're not 100% matched from the factory.

Fortunately I have a Colt frame, unfortunately I've got one that should by serial number have a matching slide that I'll probably never see.

My mom just received hers, I bought one for my son (eventually) in the first round, a nice Remington/Remington Service grade. My mom decided it wasn’t fair for his twin sister not to get one too so put in for a service. Colt frame, replacement slide. She was a little disappointed. I’m going to track down the right slide for it and still keep the “original” that came with it, part of it’s history. Decent Colt slides are out there.

I told her to maybe go with field since there’s been a lot of nice ones coming out and a lot of service with the replacement slides. At the end of the day it’s a bit like a lottery, all are winners but some win big.

I have been trying to track replacement slides on Round 3. I only have a limited sampling so far, but of the reports I have collected it has been almost a 50/50 split between Service and Field grades showing up with replacement slides.
