Received my M44 today and am very happy. Stock is dinged and missing rear sight and firing pin as well as plunger and plunger spring and the trigger guard. All of that was to be expected. I intend to rebuild this with the help of my 12 year old grandson(who just killed his first turkey last weekend...way to go Clayton!).
Can someone advise if the S130, S108 rear sights also fit the M44? I am new to these rifles.

USMCTOP,

S130 will fit. Not sure about the S108.

I got mine last week. the stock is goughed up bad in a few spots. Its only missing the rear site and safety color indicators. the rifle is parked and metal is in good shape. I got lucky. the serial number is 161 something cannot remember all of it off hand.

After using some ground glass to clean the paint off the barrel and receiver I re-coated it with Brownells Aluma-Hyde Dark Parkerizing Grey.

The Stock was cleaned up with Formby's Refinisher. I am thinking about using Acraglass Bedding and DuraCoat the entire Rifle in a Camo pattern.
