Default 1903a3 barrel steel composition

Does anyone happen to know the composition of the steel used for 1903a3 barrels?

Actually yes. I have a few worn out sporter 03a3 barrels and M1 barrels. Just wondered what the composition was or what it was comparable to.

The information might be in here. This is anawesone resource. It basically tells you how to make a 1903 from scratch, what tools, what machines to use

This book is dated 1917 - was it updated to include the 03A3? Didn't "they" upgrade the steel in the WW2 rifles?
