Default WTS - HRA 4.66 with matching USMC Condition Code Tag

Guys,
Staring to downsize my collection since I am approaching retirement so here is an interesting one.
I have a couple of rifles that have matching NAVMC Tags so am going to move this one along to a new owner. The other is the IHC with a 1956 NAVMC tag that I wrote about in the most recent GCA Journal.
You guys know that it is hard to find the 4.66 HRAs as it is so the odds of finding one with provenance to the Marine Corps has to be pretty long.
It was tagged as a Field Grade but for the life of me I am not sure why. The metal finish is starting to get thin but still looks great to me. The ME is just a tad past 1 on my gauge, the crown is nice and clean and the bore is brite and shiny.
The other thing I really liked about this is that the stock has the A on the front of the grip that I firmly believe was put there by the Marines.
The tag indicates that it belonged to the 1st Infantry Training Regiment in Camp Lejeune and is dated May 27, 1966. Pretty cool I would say.
I believe this was a Philippine Return and am amazed to think the tags could remain with these rifles through all the traveling they did.
Time for some photos. If you need to see anything specifically, just let me know:

No real pitting but there are a couple spots under the wood line where there is a little darkness/discoloration. This photo shows some of it (in the red circle). It is a Philippine Return after all.

Price is $1400 + actual USPS shipping CONUS. First "I'll take it" posted here trumps all other communications per our mutual standard rules. Please follow that with a PM so we can exchange email info and take further communications there.
Buyer needs to initially provide the City and Zip Code the rifle will ship to so shipping costs can be calculated. Buyer also needs to specify if insurance is desired. A tracking number will be supplied once the rifle ships and it will ship with Signature Required.
Payment can be USPS MO, Bank Check, or personal check. Unless I have dealt with you before your personal check will need to clear my bank before I can ship. No PayPal, livestock or Bitcoins.
Rifle will ship in a cardboard box broken down to the buttstock and the upper group in two pieces. The shipment will include the Garand owner's booklet, one Enbloc clip, and chamber flag. The CMP certificate and any other documentation will be packed inside the box with the rifle.
Must ship to an FFL that is willing to accept a shipment from a non-FFL (me).
Please be willing to provide a file copy of your FFL for shipping.
Will ship only where legal, it is the buyerís responsibility to check your local laws.
If I must ship thru my local Gun Shop on their FFL there will be some extra cost to the buyer for the transfer.
In the shipment I will include a copy of the ship-to FFL and a copy of my current driverís license.

Good luck guys, with the way things are going I think it will get harder to find this sort of rifle.

Rob

Default SPF to John

An interesting rifle that is not so nice it becomes a safe queen. You can enjoy the history and shoot it as much as you like.

Participating in a gun buyback program because you think criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbor has too many kids.
