I have been reading multiple threads on submitting FOIA requests and I'm still not sure what is the correct way to do this. I've seen some have reference to using a form and selecting different departments, and others where you send an email. A pinned topic on this would be nice to have as a quick reference.

Either way works.
mickelle.a.penn.civ@army.mil Or Foia.gov Fill out the form and submitt it to the dept of the army. Takes less than 2 mins to compete. |

If you're doing the foia.gov, it's for the Dept. of the Army

There is no fee, but you have to offer to pay a fee. Even if just $1.

I got my initial request back from Mickelle within a week or so. Very easy. I have since submitted a request to the Navy but haven't heard anything in two months other than they have received it.
Good Luck |

As mentioned above Miss Mickelle Penn will most likely be the person you deal with. she is very quick to respond.
