Received my FOIA request from the USMC Albany. Appears to have sensitive info they cannot/won't share.

This letter is in response to your” Privacy Act Request”. Records
regarding your Colt were not found with the information that was given. Your
request was received by the Adjutant’s Office on June 8, 2022, and assigned
file number DON-USMC-2022-009207.
This request has been processed under the provisions established under
the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552). Please be advised that while the
Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act affords you full access rights to
this information, we have ascertained that this FOIA request contains the
personal identifiable information and or sensitive information. As such, we
have removed this information pursuant to (j)(2) of the Privacy Act of 1974
(5 U.S.C. § 552).

That's an odd one, you would think a redacted reply with no personal info present would be given. But that contradicts the second sentence of "Records not found".

I would wait a few months then resubmit the FOIA request and see if you get more info the second time around.

Maybe a FOIA to the JAG Headquarters Marine Corps would provide just what personal info is involved. When accounting for pistols/weapons in an arms room, I was required to sign and provide my name rank, and maybe service number/SSN. I am old enough to have a USMC number. Just a suggestion. The lawyers are definitely involved.
