*NOTICE!* - Recent spam AND scam PMs received

I advertised I was looking for a 1903 A3 stripped bolt.
I received a response from a “member” who knew a guy who had one and gave me his email adddress. (Red flag). I contacted this person and more red flags went up. He only excepted PayPal under the family and friends plan. (Under this plan your money is unprotected as it is assumed you know this person.

I nixed that deal and checked the members name who referred me. He was a member for one day and was banned.

It happened again same scenario, I did not bother going any further .I checked the member members status this was his first day of membership, yet, he claimed he read the ad a “few days ago. I reported that member he is now banned.

This is a shame. This is a board that I always felt I could ask a question and get a knowledgeable answer or if I needed a part I would get one without some Jack ****** trying to rip me off.

Be careful , be aware of what does not seem right and stop immediately.

Check out the “Scammer” thread I started and then closed in the “Ask Each Other” section, there are Three scammers that I listed. Also look at the “Sticky Note” by Colin Lee Williams under the Garand WTB section.

Not a problem Gcc, scammers just make my blood boil. I reported those who have contacted me also and they were blocked by the mods. Yes, we need to look out for each other and keep folks informed of these lowlifes.

I see no member with this name so excuse if you are current upstanding member but just FYI armdealer@protonmail.com responded to my WTB Receiver post with a too good to be true offer. Looks like protonmail is based in Switzerland.

Yea my brothers email addy is with protonmail. I believe it is based in switzerland. A very secure email addy from what I have read. But most of his emails go in my spam folder even though I selected "not spam". Strange.
