Default how long did we stock 03-a3 parts in storage/

Hello,the reason i ask is i just aqquired a lot of mostly 03 parts in military vapor packing dated from 66 to 73 to 1980(clear cellophane on the one...will see if i can post some pics...Thanks,scott

My info comes second hand. I had a friend that was emptying arms bunkers in the mid 90's on a naval base and he was pulling out 1903, 1903a3 and 1917 rifles that had been stored there since the early 50's. I am assuming that part support ended about the same time.

interesting that they would take the time to pack and maintain all these tiny parts that long!

Remington got the "all time buy" for '03, A3, and A4 spare parts at the end of WWII. Enough so that no more would ever have to be made. SARCO had cases of almost every part, packaged for long term storage. They are still found for sale on the secondary market. That's why so many of the spare replacement parts are marked "R".
