try contacting this ebay seller ne makes allen head replacement bolts that fit + work great - he has none listed now but he will make them for you at a very fair price - a few years back i posted pictures of modified screw drivers on RFC forum -

I worked on F14 Tomcats when I was in the Navy. The Tomcat had some panels held on with what they called "high torque screws". The tool slot resembles the 513 takedown screw. Maybe one of these can be found to fit?

food for thought-

it is unlikely Remington would use a screw on a common .22 rifle that requires a special tool to turn.

if they did, it would seem likely such a tool would be if not available at least it's existence would be known to the rimfire community by now.

every other .22 rifle of contemporaneous vintage that I own/have owned can use a coin. My 514 needs a nickel.
