Default Gun Show Deal of Deals!!

For those that are knowledgeable in USMC fighting knives. They’ll know this manufacturer is quite rare and hard to find. Generally commanding a high price!! Guy had it on his table today, I asked how much. $35 he says, would you take $30? OK, and out the door I went!!

What a great score and in nice shape to boot. Bet he thought it was a Chinese knock off. Very cool to see the machining marks.

Very nice K-Bar! And good price!

I bought one very similar back in 1986 for about $35 new at the Navy Exchange on Guam.

Got one of those from a wholesale surplus dealer in OKC a few years back. The edge of the straight bottom was OK, but when you turned the edge to look at the curved portion of the blade, the angle between the sharpened edges was about 90° to 110° - or worthless.

Yep, T38 Carbine, you got a heckuva deal on a very scarce USGI knife. And, of course, you were an informed buyer and knew what you were looking at. Good for you.

For more info on the MSI Mark 2 knives you might want to take a look at this thread over on the US Militaria Forum Edged Weapons sub-forum. There have been several threads on the MSI knives there but this one is fairly recent and descriptive.

Thanks!! I live in the same state as Gary Cunningham (RIP) and he and I had talked about these particular knives. I have been looking for years and was prepared to pay a substantial price. When I saw this one, my jaw dropped. And when the price became evident, I was pretty excited to say the least!!
