Garand and carbine prices have been overinflated for years IMO. There are countless numbers of both rifles out there, hoarded or otherwise.

Gen X'ers make up the largest part of the milsurp collector market next to Baby Boomers and X'ers aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The market may loosen as Boomers move on, but the most collectible examples will at least maintain their values IMO.

Political winds are always the wild card. The current trend of apathy toward and demonization of our history in schools may also affect generational milsurp demand. Hopefully 2020 spawned a new era of overall 2A awareness. Time will tell. We've been rehashing the '60s over the last few years; hopefully the '80s will be along soon.

The wildcard in collecting these rifles for the long term is government interference. I sincerely believe there will come a time when this will be the last battle rifle you will be able to possess legally in this country, until you can’t.

Yep. More of the same political winds.
