That happens. I got some British .303 ammo and had to go get a L-E to match. Then a friend walked it with a Carcano, so I had to get the only box of ammo at the shop for it. It works both ways.

I received my M1 Carbine mags yesterday. They were in excellent shape. No rust on one and a little rust on the other one. One was UI circled and the other was a LI.

Those carbine mags look mint compared to my 4 that were rusted and pitted.

Cast1903,

I agree with you. The mags I got are great. They still had some cosmoline on them too. Like anything with the CMP it is luck of the draw. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Update, the second five 1911 mags were delivered today by the big white truck. All dated the same as the first five, 6/91.
Second five just as nice as the first five.
I wiped them down with a little FP-10 and all is good.
IMO, $8.00 per mag is an excellent deal for NOS military contract range mags.

The (5) carbine mags I received were covered in cosmoline. Wiped them down with RemOil and they appear to be as close to NOS as possible outside the wrapper. Only opened one of the Checkmate 1911 mags, RemOil and a quick wipe down and it bench tested perfectly in the 1911A1 Colt. Range session scheduled for Saturday 8/1....
